The Value Of Being Driven In Fitness

The Value Of Being Driven In Fitness

Motivation? That’s for suckers.

Motivation is something that comes and goes. You have towaiton motivation, as though it’s some sort of Princess that only indulges you whenever it feels like getting out of bed.

Drive, on the other hand, is realness. When you’re driven to succeed, you don’t need to be motivated. You’re on your purpose, you’re disciplined and you’re owning this sh*t.

Drive, then, is what you need to be aiming for in fitness. In this article, Beast Gear explains what this really means.

What Does Being Driven Mean?

When we talk of drive in fitness, we’re talking about having a purpose; of having high-value goals that drive you relentlessly forward.

When you think of giving up, you think back to your goals and they push you inexorably onwards.

Drive is what gets us to make the sacrifices that are necessary to ace our fitness goals. It makes us disciplined, resourceful, ingenious and, ultimately, victorious. Even when it looks like there is no way to succeed, drive is what makes us find the way.

Why Should I Be Driven In Fitness?

As said, motivation is a mistress that will betray you. She will come, she will go.

Drive, on the other hand, stays. It’s in it for the long-term.

When you’re driven in fitness, you’ll get in better shape and better health. This is a given.

If you dedicate yourself to fitness, and if health and fitness is your number one value above all else, you will quit the bad habits - the smoking, the drinking, the lazying around like a couch potato.

In short, you will be the person you want to be. You will look good and feel good.

Not just that, but drive will give you better clarity of mind. Staying fit and healthy will become yourduty and you’ll pursue it with the discipline of a Marine. This sense of purpose and duty will give you a clearer clarity of mind as you’ll learn what really matters to you - staying healthy, for your sake and the sake of your family.

After all, you owe it to everyone who means something to you to stay fit. They’re counting on you to stick around and be the best version of yourself you can be.

How Do I Get Driven In Fitness?

Here are some tips to stay driven in fitness:

  • Develop a routine - A routine will give structure to your day. Each day you’ll wake up knowing exactly what you need to do and this alone will help you stay consistent. Don’t push yourself too hard as that may cause you to quit. But develop a routine that you know suits you
  • Stay focused - Remove any daily distractions that will take you off course. If you’ve got kids, deal with them first before you get in the zone. Take care of the small stuff and then focus and commit 100% on beasting your fitness goals
  • Suffer - Staying disciplined when it comes to fitness is tough. I’m not going to lie about that. But you have to be okay with discomfort and suffering. It’s all part of the ride. Out of suffering, great things come. Learning to overcome adversity will callous your mind so that, over time, you will get so used to it that you realise it’s just part of the journey, dude

Are you ready to get fitter? It’s all on you now. But just remember your ‘why’, and make sure to remind yourself of it each day. It’s a little trick that will help you stay disciplined.
